How we deliver our architecture and interior design services
We follow the RIBA Plan of Work for a proven and thorough approach to your build.
-
We start by meeting face to face – at your home if possible. This allows you to tell us what you want most from your home and for us to get to know you better. We then work with you to agree on a brief that will become the foundation of your project.
-
The most successful design processes are collaborative, so we work closely with you to create a design concept for your home. This stage includes developing strategies for constructability, establishing the preliminary cost and outline specification, and culminates in a preliminary project design.
-
With your initial design in hand, we go into further depth, adding details such as structural requirements and building services. This results in a sharper, more precise scheme which we then translate into architectural drawings ready for submission to the Local Planning Authority. We handle the planning process on your behalf, liaising with planning officers and keeping you updated on the progress of your approval.
-
With your design approved by the local planning department, it’s time to progress the technical aspects of your build. We work closely with you to coordinate your design and interior choices and then produce detailed drawings and a schedule of works to issue to contractors for tender. We manage the tender process on your behalf – identifying and appraising potential contractors and obtaining their tenders while identifying appropriate energy and cost-saving measures. With all tender submissions in place, we work with you to select the right contractor for your project.
-
We start this stage by holding a pre-contract meeting with your nominated contractor to discuss the project specifics and to agree and issue the contract. With this in place, the build begins. Once work has started, we monitor your project with regular site visits to ensure it is built in line with the proposed design. We are also on hand to answer any queries and questions that may arise during the build, minimising the day-to-day impact of the project on you and your life.
-
With construction finished, we issue your practical completion certificate. This final stage is essential in ensuring all loose ends are tied up, and we conduct a thorough final inspection to ensure everything is exactly as it should be. With this accomplished, it’s time for you to start using your new space and making the most of your beautiful new home.
